Visiting France, Italy, Germany, Swwitz for six weeks. I know you can buy the Bic-phones just about anywhere, and you can recharge them easily. But how to find out the true cost, i.e., cost per minute? I tried the global phone option with verizon last time, but the per minute charges were a shocker. Would it be worth it to try to locate a used bic that someone bought in France and just needs to get rid of? Oy! So many decisions!
Does anyone have experience with Bic-phone or similar?

This is WWW again...just as an afterthought, I'm not a techie. I don't own a smrtphone or ipod or ipad or any other device that I could "transform" to take to Europe. I'm not familiar with sim cards or Ghz or megahrz, etc, etc. Hoping to find a simple phone
IF you get a BIC phone, have a look at the manual for costs - it's in French, but shows 50 centimes a minute for calls in France, 70 centimes in Europe, and 1.55 for the rest of the world.
