Docklands from Heathrow and area in gereral?

My BF's Aussie cousins set us up in timeshare with them. Located in Docklands.

How long does it take via tube/DLR from Heathrow? Should we just take taxi/shuttle?

I wanted to stay closer, but we have 14 day trip all in budget hotels or cheap apartmetns and I could see they had heart set on nicer digs for at least this leg of the trip

Leaving out of Waterloo on the Eurostar.

maybe you could fly from Heathrow to City Airport

otherwise tube to Bank and DLR to Docks would be the old way but now with Jubilee Line finished to Canary Wharf i'd say tube from Heathrow to interchange with jubilee line to Docks - well over an hour.

Direct Jubilee tube Waterloo, at least to a station connected to Waterloo by a short walk.

Never change at bank - you will need sherpas.

Get the picadilly line, change at Baron's court to the District line, then at Westminster for the Jubilee line.

i changed at Bank last Feb for the DLR and yes it is a maze - especially at rush hour when i went thru - zillions of folks going every which way as several tubes and DLR converge here.

Really it was quite an experience but not one i'd like to navigate with bags.

I used the Journey Planner at www.tfl.gov.uk and arbitrarily entered Canary Wharf as your destination. Travel from Heathrow would be 1hr10min.

I would allow an hour and a half for the journey - a taxi would probably cost at least 50 GBP, so unless there are several of you or you have loads of luggage and extra cash, the tube is the way to go. It will be easy to get to Waterloo for your return journey - its right on the Jubilee Line.

The trick, as someone has already mentioned, is to change at Baron's Court - the District Line is directly across the platform and no stairs/escalators required.

Make sure you get your Oyster Card and touch in and out -

Barons court change is simply cross platform. Green Park - you are walking a long ways underground.
