Do I want the very centre of prague, Wenceslas Square or Lesser Town Prague?
Our choice is Hotel Rokoko in Wenceslas Square or Hotel Roma at the base of Petrin Park. The Independent pkg with Hotel Rokoko in Prague is the Hotel Astoria in Budapest. The Hotel Roma Prague, is with the hotel Ramada Budapest. Anyone have info on these hotels? Thanks

Don;t know these specific hotels. Wenceslas Square is a more modern area of town.
Lesser town is a much better location: below the castle, next to the river and just across the bridge/river from the Old Town. Lesser town is also much older/quainter than Wenceslas Square.

I wasn't impressed with the Wenceslas Square area at all. A bit seedy I thought. We stayed in Mala Strane (sp) just over the Charles Bridge at the foot of the castle and loved that area. Mind you we do prefer quiet rather than raging!! I don't know any of the hotels you mentioned however, we stayed at a quaint little boutique style hotel called The Yellow Shoe, it was very comfortable and warm but quite rustic as well. I much prefer the character style hotels.

On my several trips to Prague, some have found Wenceslas seedy and unwelcoming, while others have enjoyed the lively, modern, urban feel.
If you prefer the more quiet, old world feel, then Lesser Town area is better.
If hanging out in Times Sq is your cup of tea, you might find Wenceslas more attractive.
