Hey,

I'm looking for some place to buy dirndls. I'm in New York right now and everybody is telling me to buy it from Munich rather than online. Anybody knows locations for good shops around? and prices for these dirndls around in Munich or other places?

How much do you want to spend? High quality dirndls can be quite expensive. On the more modest end of the scale, the value-priced chain Vogele sells them (but not online) with prices under $160 or so. I've seen the dirndls offered in their Swiss stores and they're not bad at all. Here are the Munich area stores:

The easiest way to buy a dirndl is, of course, the Oberpollinger in München centre. It is the largest department store in town. You find everything there.

OMG - after 9 years in Munich, I feel obliged to offer some ex-local guidance:
THE place to shop is Trachten Angermaier.
They have two stores in Munich proper - one in the historic town center, the other in Westend. And also stores in Nuremberg, Stuttgart and Berlin (they must know why, I don't).
Nevertheless, Angermaier is THE first place for locals to shop - both traditional dirndls as well as those which may suit Paris Hilton's taste.
They don't sell that dirndl & lederhosen trash combos for 200 euros you find at the stores around Munich main station.
But you don't have to buy the high-end gear to make a proper impression (real lederhosen cost 800-1500 euros - so you can imagine what type of trash you get for 100 euros at the department stores).

Those dirnl shoes are just shoes, the page ranges from dress pumps to short boots to just casual tie shoes.

Cowboy, I love that store. If I lived there I would buy because they wear these for more than festivals. I have a bought a couple of blouses for Oktoberfest. I love the boiled wool jackets.

I'm not looking much for shoes. Have to get something thats durable since all the beer spilling might mess things up, i'm gona go with some casual closed shoes. Thanks all

As somebody said before, most of the cheap Dirndls is real trash. My wife recommends Chiemseer Dirndl in Übersee at lake Chiemsee (https://www.chiemseer-dirndl.de), but if I recall it correctly, there are no bargains to exspect there. Salzburg offers some good stores as well, but the Austrain Dirndl style is quite different from the Bavarian one.
