Hi! I'll be in Reykjavik from December 23 through the 27th - suddenly all as a solo traveler. I'm staying at the Hotel Borg. Any suggestions where to go and what to do while still not feeling lonely or an outsider? I work out a lot, so I figure I would go for really long runs outside to check out the area (getting lost in the process is part of the fun). However, I do wonder about dining by myself all the time, and I would love to do do something "Christmassy" on Christmas Day, sharing at least part of the day with someone. Any suggestions? I'm male and pretty easy going just in case this factors into the equation. No matter what, this is going to be a great trip. My email is scobdob@hotmail.com. Thanks! - Scott

Hope you find something/someone to do during the festive time,
I am in a similar situation I will be somewhere in Europe during Xmas and New Year on my own.
Kathryn
Hi Kathryn. Good luck to you as well. No matter what, travel is worth it. Sometimes, it's just nice to have some company. Still, both our trips will be wonderful and we will meet plenty of people along the way. When I crossed my country on my bicycle, solo, camping the entire time, I was humbled by the generosity and kindness of strangers I met along the way. It was truly inspirational. If I don't get any "takers" from my posting, I am quite confident that "the kindness" is still out there, waiting for me, upon getting to Iceland. All my best to you. - Scott
