On my way from Paris to Lyon, I'm stopping in Dijon for 6 hours. I want to check my bagage at the station so I can move around the city unencombered, and would like to be able to find the "consigne" in a hurry instead of wasting time looking for it. Can anyone tell me exactly where it is?
Dijon: Where is the "consigne" in the Dijon train station?

Hi Madelina, I was about to tell you that la consigne is closed during the tramway works but found something interesting. I don't know when you're coming to Dijon but they should open a conciergerie in Feb. In case it is not availalble yet, you have to go to reception (Accueil)and pay there. Then you'll give and collect your luggage at the Campanile hotel (24h/24h which is great) right in front of the station.
here is the text in French:
Bagages
Consignes manuelles
Since you have some time to visit, go to the tourist office near the station (light green front) and ask for the Owl's trail brochure, so you won't miss any important site.
Have fun!
Thanks so much! I'll be going the beginning of April. Do you know if it will be open by then?
Most French train stations closed their baggage lockers a long time ago under the Vigipirate act to combat terrorists putting bombs in them. You can never count on any baggage storage except in a few large stations like those in paris that have airport-like screening devices.
I drove my guests to the station this morning and asked at the information desk about the left luggage service. You still have to pay at this desk and leave your luggage at Campanile hotel until the left luggage office opens in April/May. Enjoy your visit!
Thank you!
Last update for those coming soon, the left luggage office is far from being ready (June or even September!) so you now have to go to La Grande Taverne (Bar/brasserie) right opposite to Campanile.
Thanks Coco, that's what I did. Enjoyed Dijon even tho it rained most of the day! Took the free navette when the rain was hardest!
