Did anybody else get a Great Fun rebate after buying tickets on Orbitz?
I just have to ask because I couldn't believe this because it seemed too good to be true. In Nov. I was buying plane tickets on Orbitz. Something popped up from something called Great Fun. It said to sign up for their opportunities (kind of like a Happenings or Entertinment book idea) and I'd get a 15% rebate on the plane tickets I was purchasing. I thought about it a bit and decided it was worth taking the risk since I was spending $2600 on tickets. (Their service fee is $10 a month and I can cancel any time.) So, I signed on. After I'd completed my purchase I got a messasge saying the rebate was actually 20%. My husband meanwhile thought I was a completely gullible fool to do this.
A couple weeks later I got some forms in the mail that I needed to fill out for the rebate. Believe it or not this week I got a check for $500 +.
I'm wondering if anyone else did this.

i signed up for great fun about 3 weeks ago. i've mailed my rebate form, but no check yet. did you mail your rebate before you went on your trip? it says somewhere that you have to mail it within 45 days after you travel. however, over the phone they said to ignore that stipulation. a little shady. how long did you have to keep your membership before you received your check? my check will only be for about $40 dollars so i don't really want to pay them for that 3rd or 4th month. i don't think it's worth it. however, my friend just bought a trip for 3 to hawaii, and i convinced him to join great fun. his check will be for about $600. woo hoo! thanks.

I believe you can only apply for the refund within 45 days AFTER travel.
Also, to cancel, the # is 1-877-488-9480 and the website is:
www.mygreatfun.com
I joined but booked my trip 2 1/2 months ahead of time. So with the 60-day free trial period, I'll have to pay a for a month. Hope it works out...

Oh, I didn't see that stevemb said the same about applying after...
So, yes, please let us know if we can do it before travel! And if you booked online (which I guess everyone would), what do you use for receipts? The Ortitz confirmation?
Thanks.
