Hi. Wanted to surprise DH next year. Just found great ff direct flight and my mom said she MIGHT watch kids so if I get her go ahead, I want to book this trip but need some quick advice and input.
I spent a semester abroad in Madrid 22 years ago and LOVED it but have never been back. WE have traveled to Paris (5 times!), Provence, England, Scotland and Italy. I majored in Spanish and am conversational.
Anyway, we would arrive in Madrid on 5/24 and depart on May 31. Seven nights. Wanted to do 4 days in Madrid with a day trip to Toledo and then 2 days in Granada. I still remember the Alhambra and Generalife to be amazing.
Is it too hot late May? Is this too tight an itinerary? Thanks
DH 50th and our 20th anniversary--and mom just said might watch kids!

No, it's not too hot in late May and 7 days sounds fine, as long as you fly home (on a connecting flight) from Granada and not have to retrace your steps.
Well, it could be very hot, but it could be only pleasantly warm. It's the weather after all ! Your trip sounds just fine, and, again, you're going to LOVE it ! Don't forget that San Isidro starts May 15 , but the toros at Las Ventas will continue on for 30 days. Your husband might enjoy that. And, be sure to follow Kimhe's flamenco tips.
Hi. we will fly rt from Charlotte to Madrid. How would you divided up the time? San Isidro goes on for how long? what is that? i was in Madrid from Dec to very early May so not familar. thanks
San Isidro is Madrid's big fiesta. Google it and contact the Spanish Tourist Office for more infomation on dates. The info found on Google is contradictory.
