I am staying for a week (June 2013) in Bruges/Brussels/Ghent with some girlfriends, then meeting my husband in Brussels. When we meet up we have 15 days with a flight home from Munich. Originally I planned an all Germany trip, then Dubrovnik sounded good and then chaos ensued. So should I use 3-4 days in Munich at the end to do the castles, Dachau, Munich experience? If so how do I best use those other 11-12 days. we are hardy tourists, like to pack a lot in, but a beach in Croatia would be a nice respite. We love history, museums, hiking, beer and food, not in that order. Please manage my time!
Decisions,decisions,please make me an itinerary

Sicily Trip Report May 2013 - LONG and DETAILED

Don't know about Dubrovnick but Germany has a lot to offer. Rotheburg is always fun. The Lake Constance (Bodensee) area has several quaint towns like Lindau and Meersburg and there is Mainau Insel (the flower island in the middle of the lake). Once you get to Fussen to see Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau you are in a great area. From there the sights include Wieskirche, Oberammergau, Schlos Linderhof, Ettal Monastary, Garmish, Zugspitze and Mittenwald (the violin maker's village), from here swing dow by Innsbruck on your way to Bertschesgaden and Salzburg. Hallstatt is pretty close and it isn't that far down to the Dolomites in Northern Italy. Time permitting you can go on to Venice, Verona and Florence. Then back up to Munich to round it all out.
15 days will vanish really quickly but if you're really keen to visit Croatia, perhaps you could fly from Brussels to Dubrovnik, spend some time there, fly to Munich from Split and spend your last few days or so based in Munich. If you want to travel faster, you could fly from Split to Zurich instead and travel to Munich via Lake Constance.
So that would give you say:
7days Dubrovnik to Split
4days Lake Constance/northern Switzerland
4days Munich
Of course there are many, many other options. And that's just the problem - it's hard to choose.
I think you'd be crazy to try and fit in as much as AisleSeat recommends - that's a lot!
Thank you both for your expertise. Here's what I am now pondering:
Brussels to Koln: 2 hrs sightseeing
Sleep in Bacharach, day in Bacharach
Bacha-Rothenburg:Rhine cruise
Rothenburg to Munich, fly to Dubrovnik 2-3 days
Dub-Korcula for 2.5 days, fly back to Munich for 3.5 days of castles,Dachau and Munich
