Although I have been living in Rome for quite a few years, hating the hectic traffic of Christmas and of end of the year period, I would never miss some of the events that make the period unique.
From the creches in the various churches to the songs and traditional gospels in the roads, from rock concerts to concerts of sacred music in the churches. This year, for instance, one top events in Rome will be the recital of the famous Spanish singer Monserrat Caballé on December 22nd. Unmissable also the concerts in Rome basilicas, from December 20th to January 6th.
Concerts and shows will take place also in different museums like Museo Nazionale dell'Alto Medioevo at EUR and in the University La Sapienza.
Many other initiatives will enable both the resident and the tourist to taste the special atmosphere which will end, on the last day of January, with fireworks from the Pincio Hill.
