Days trips from Nice that don't require a lot of walking
Hi everyone.
My husband and I will be traveling to Nice in October with my mother who is of a certain (but non-disclosable) age. She can certainly walk on her own but long walks and hills need to be limited. For this portion of our trip, we will not have a car so we are looking for day trips via public transportation. I would like to hear about which destinations you think might work best--where we can take public transportation but not have to walk miles to the main sights from the bus/train station. Would Monte Carlo work under these circumstances? How about Eze or St. Paul de Vence? Any other destinations you would suggest?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure about Eze and St. Paul, a bit hilly. Vence proper would probably be OK. Also Villa Ephrussi - the bus drops you very close. Then you can take the bus on to St. Jean and/or Beaulieu sur Mer. Lots to see in Nice itself - take the lift up the hill. You could ride the Train des Pignes: http://tourisme.trainprovence.com/?lang=en - maybe just to Entrevaux, although the old town would be too steep.

Thanks Thursdays
She can handle some hills or at least is willing to try. If she can't do it, she will be happy sitting at a cafe watching life. As to Eze and st Paul de Vence, do you know whether there is significant hike from the bus stop or train to the center of the village? If there is, we will look at some other options.
I will look into your other suggestions. Thanks again.

The hike to the top was bad, don't remember exactly, but I think the walk to the start of the villages was OK. Suggest using google maps and satellite view.
The trains run along the coast, inland you use buses.

Vence, Valbonne, and Mouans-Sartoux are all fairly flat and quite pleasant. You can reach M/S by train, the others by bus or a combination of the two. However, Nice itself is great for flat walking. You can even go up to the top of the Château rock via an elevator.
