Has anyone done a day tour or a half day tour of Paris? Did you find it reasonable value for money? Which company did you use?
Yes I know that I can go to all of the destinations by myself, and, "yes", I have been to Paris before. However as I am only going to be there for 3 days this time and as my wife has never been to Europe before, I am thinking of doing one of these tours in an effort to save time and also to give her as much of an insight into the city as she can gain in such a short time.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

Vientianeboy - any interest in doing one of the Hop on/Hop off tours? They do cover lots of ground in a relatively short time frame and you can get off of the bus at the sights of interest and catch the next bus that comes by. Granted you won't get lots of info but they do provide a short introduction to the city. I think there are 2 different companies, here's an information link:
http://europeforvisitors.com/paris/articles/paris-sightseeing-buses.htm
also there is a batobus on the river, tho I haven't done this and don't know much about it, you may want to look into it.
Enjoy your visit,
Susan
You could do a search on the words: private tour of Paris. A few come up. One that looks promising is http://www.private-tours-paris.com/testimonials.html.
If you want a walking tour, I have seen positive comments about the walkabout tours, though I'd rather walk myself around, get coffess when I want etc.

I can't personally recommend these as don't do them but hope it helps get you started.
Try Paris Walks, they are excellent, not expensive Euro12 per person, great tour guides.
I agree with TPaxe on Paris walks. If the weather permits, walking around paris for a couple of days and stopping at restaurants at random is great fun. Paris is for walking.
