Day trips near london

My family and I will be visiting London In August. We'd like to make a few day trips while in London. We would like to see Bath, the Cotswolds, and Stonehenge. Does it make sense to have 1 day trip for Stonehenge, and 1 day trip to Bath and the Cotswolds? Or can all 3 locations be comfortably fit into one day?

Also, is a day trip to Cambridge or Oxford something worth doing?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

How many days are you in London and who is in your family? That may dictate in some ways what makes sense.

I'd recommend Stonehenge/Salisbury for one day and Bath for another. No expert on adding in Cotswolds; others will weigh in, I'm sure. And Oxford is my favorite day trip--going back for 3rd time this August! If any family members like CS Lewis, Lewis Carroll, or Tolkien, Oxford will be a draw.

cotswalds is a bigish area but lots of little roads and villages. The nice feature is the general golden stone and oldie-worldie vision. So not really a object to see more a place to pass through, eat and come back. Depending on "family" you may find it a bit dull

Stonehenge, salisbury a good day out.
Oxford another, you can catch a good bus into the centre. Taking a car makes less sense as you either park in a park-and-ride or take your luck on the streets.

One of the Oxford museums has just benn redone so worth a major visit.

We are going to London in May this year and booked a side trip to the Cotswolds, Oxford, Bath & Stonehenge. It takes care of all transportation, an over night and guided tours of the sites. Here is the link if you're interested.

No - you can;t do them all together. You might get a bus tour that is Stonehenge and Bath - but you would see not much of Bath - which is worth a full day. The Cotswolds are worth several days - although you can probably get a bus tour with brief stop in 2 or 3 towns - but again won;t see a whole lot in each.
