Day Trips from Split and Dubrovnik

In September will be in Split 3 days, Dubrovnik 7 days. Would like any info about day trips from both cities. Thanks much!

debday - one island that is must see, is the island of Hvar, (boat trip from
Split) in fact, try to stay a few days or week there, I know you will enjoy it.

Stay in Hvar and day trip to Split. From Dubrovnik, be sure to go to Montenegro. Atlas does a great tour. They'll take you places you wouldn't want to drive on your own. Be sure to visit the nearby islands and maybe go to the wine region. Check out www.atlas.hr for an idea of what day trips might be nice. You could do them with Atlas or on your own.

I concur regarding spending sometime on the mainland and one of the islands - I'm partial to Hvar also.
