Day trips from Madrid to Toledo, etc with kids
Morning,
In August we are spending time in Madrid for 4 days or so. Afterwards we have 3 more days and would like to take one or two day trips from Madrid to maybe Toledo or Cuenca.
We have two kids age 9 and 10.
Looking for fun day trips for both parents and kids from Madrid.
I've read a bit about Toledo and Cuenca and wondering if someone who has been recently WITH kids can share any insights? We've got Madrid covered.
Someone suggested an overnight in Toledo which is possible - so it would really be two days in Toledo with a return to Madrid and a final trip somewhere else.
Thanks in advance for any insight!

I loved Toledo, well worth at least one night.
I enjoyed seeing the hanging houses in Cuenca and the cathedral but don't think either would be of interest to kids. And, how would you get from the view of the hanging houses into town? If any of you have an issue with heights, you won't want to walk across the footbridge across the gorge! I had a taxi take me from the trainstation to the view of the hanging houses and then into the old town after explaining my fear of heights.
Segovia may be a better option for kids. The castle, acquduct and cathedral may be more interesting to them.
