Seems like a bad idea to me, but I would not like spending three hours on train each direction.<BR><BR>And there have been those here who have spoken favorably of such an idea.<BR><BR>Goes against my first rule: "See where you are more. Travel around less."<BR><BR>Best wishes,<BR><BR>Rex<BR>

It is a 3 hour train ride both ways, albeit on a very pleasant train. But that's 6 hours of travel, plus you'll need to go through passport controlon each end, and the Eurostar requires check in like an airplane. The trains leave very regularly, every hour I believe. The ticket cost on 2nd class is about $100. If its the only way you'll ever see Paris maybe, but you obviously won't have time for much. Personally, I'd hold it for another trip if you only have one day.

We did the one-day Paris trip two years ago, but from the Ashford International terminal in Kent, so it only took 2 hours. Did we have a good time? Was it worth it? You bet! I never would have had a chance to see Paris if I hadnt done what a lot of people said was crazy. Yes, some day Ill get to go to Paris to see what should be seen. For now, though, Ill look back happily on that wonderful day. Just wandering around, soaking up the ambience of Paris and riding to the top of the Eiffel Tower made it worth every cent and worth getting up early to catch a 6:00 am train. My vote is to go for it, even if it will be a bit longer from London After all, why would Eurostar offer a one-day trip if there weren't people like us? <BR><BR>Happy planning,<BR>Dale
