Day trip to Giverny in Oct.

What would the gardens be like at the beginning of Oct.? Worth the trip?

Yes they are always worth it in early October - France rarely gets cold until much later and there is also the house filled with artifacts and a beutiful village that is alwasy quaint - be sure to check out the village graveyard where Monet still hangs out.

Most of the flowers may have gone but the loutuses still on the pond - anyway this gives a run-down of what to expect in October.

There will be dahlias! we went at that time of year and found it very enjoyable. Be sure to pre-purchase your ticket on-line - even in Oct. there was a line at general admission that you can skip if you already have tickets.

There is info on the Monet website about what flowers are in bloom at various times of the year:

http://fondation-monet.com/en/practi...r-the-seasons/

There are flowers all season long so it is worth a visit at any time of the year.
