Day trip to Gibraltar from Sevilla, Granada, or Cordoba
My wife and I are contemplating touring Andalusia this fall, either escorted or on our own. We'll be in each of the cities in the msg title, and I want to ask if it's feasible to do one-day trips to/from Gibraltar from any of those spots, either escorted or solo.
And if anyone HAS done so, I'd appreciate recommendations for what to do or not to do!
Thx.

Not practicle - 'either escorted or on our own' and even if you do find your way there, I doubt you will find the time and money expended, compared to what you have to see, any great value.
'And if anyone HAS done so, I'd appreciate recommendations for what to do or not to do!' - does no one refer to guide books or internet guides anymore?

I did a day trip to Gibraltar from Malaga (by bus) many years ago, and enjoyed it very much. But then, I don't mind long day trips, particularly if I think I probably won't be back that way again.

Tom, I also did a tour of Gibraltar many years ago on a trip to Spain during Holy Week. It happened to be Passover with beautiful weather. We arrived at the Rock just as the synagogue service was ending. The worshippers spilled out onto the main street - magnificently dressed - the women in hats and gloves as if they were attending a garden party at Buckingham Palace - the young people dressed to the nines.
Of course, we had a tour of the Rock - great except for all the monkeys running around. Interesting history of the Rock’s strategic importance during WWII. Views were fabulous including that of an exquisite newly build mosque facing towards Mecca. Bought a beautiful string of pearls. Had a typical Brit “fish ‘n chips” lunch at an outdoor café. Enjoyed the mix of cultures, the view across the Med to North Africa, and the sense of history which pervades this fabled locale - going back to the Pillars of Hercules.
If I recall, we had to show our passports because we were entering a British possession from mainland Spain. To me it was worth the trip.

Much to the dismay of many on this board, I very much enjoyed two nights in Gibraltar. We had a car but hired a taxi driver to be our tour guide for most of a day and got to see many sites. The second day, we drove to the Med side and enjoyed the water and lunch on the beach followed by some walking around in the 'downtown' area.
And, we did enjoy the monkeys.... how can you not? They are so cute! Great photo ops!

I hear many mixed reports, the last time I mentioned Gibraltar two unrelated people said immediately don´t go!
I want to see the views, learn about the history and see the monkeys. Like many places there are undesirable parts.
You do have to show your passports/ID cards to cross the border from Spain. I´ll be day tripping there in July with very mixed feelings. But you have to see everywhere once (I wish!)
I´ll come back and let you know my view.
A trip from Málaga would be ok but from elsewhere it is too far.
