Day trip from Munich - Mittenwald or Garmisch?
We are planning for a day trip from Munich, where we can have a nice time with nature and may be some walk amidst beautiful scenery. We are considering Mittenwald and Garmisch. Which among these two we should pick? Also if there is any walking trail which you would recommend?

Hi Praveenroam,
Mittenwald is smaller, prettier, and because it's smalller, you're closer to the countryside. I love the violin-making museum there as well.
Garmisch is larger, with more traffic, etc. But it also has city busses that might make your visit more pleasant. From Garmisch, you can be walking on a mountain or valley trail after about 20 minutes' walk.
My favorite walking trail is one from the town of Krün to Mittenwald. Just take the bus to Krün, then walk to Mittenwald. The walk takes about 2h.
Have fun as you plan!
