Day trip from Marbella to the Alhambra

My husband and I will be staying in Marbella in September and would like to take a day trip to the Alhambra. Can anyone suggest a good tour company to book with? thanks so much..

No need to take a tour unless that is your preference. Just be sure to book your tickets for the Alhambra well in advance.

I did this quite awhile ago - can't remember the name of the company, I probably signed up after arriving in Marbella. It was OK, but a lot of time was spent going to different hotels and picking up and dropping off - I was the furthest When the other poster says "no need for a tour" I think they assume you have a car? as using public transportation probably does not work at all.

Later in my travel years, I discovered "Tours by Locals" - they are a great resource. Check and see if they do an Alhambra tour - they would cost more, but be of a much higher quality than a Viatour or such.

One can go by bus. Use rome2rio.com to start identifying your options.

rome2rio shows by bus it is 3hrs and 15minutes - each way - hmmmm.

But let me ask, by any chance will you be in Seville earlier in your trip? I thought the Alcazar there, was almost as impressive as The Alhambra. Just a suggestion to save you a fairly long day trip no matter how you decide to go.

I once rented a car from Torremelinos - near Marbella- and drove to Granada and the Alhambra- a lovely drive up and over some mountains - so that is feasible too.
