Currently in Naxos, best day trip?
Hi!
My brand new husband and I are now currently honeymooning in Agios Prokopios for the next 4 days. We spent today at the beach and want to explore the island in the next days. We would like to keep a day to go on a day trip on another island. What do you suggest? We came from Santorini and next we leave for Athens. We were thinking maybe of Paros, Amorgos or Mykonos but are open to all suggestions! We love scenic views, history, hiking. We are not looking to lounge on a beach or shop.
Thank you!

Stay in Naxos and visit Apiranthos
Going to other islands involve boats with operational risks. The Blue Star connected routes are the most reliable. Look at the most up to date boat time table, the same day at the port itself to make sure there are ways to return to Naxos, preferably on Blue Star, and not on day foul weather is expected. Even so, I would go with an assumption that you might not make it back to Naxos on the same day. I would not want to rely on Sea Jet Consortium boat as the last boat of the day to return to Naxos on a foul weather day.
For example, on 6/10, you can take 9:30 Blue Star to Paros, and can tentatively plan taking the 19:15 Sea Jet back. If the boat does not run, you have a reliable 22:00 Blue Star ferry as a backup.

We just spent 5 days on Naxos and enjoyed exploring the island more than our day trip to Paros. We had a van and one day drove across the island through Filoti,Aparanthos, Koronos and Apolonas. This was a great day trip and didn't require us to leave the island. We met wonderful people, ate good food, saw charming towns and beautiful scenery and it was one of our favorite days in Greece.

You haven't said what you wish to see on another island. If archaeology, the Delos/Mykonos excursion would be the best choice. If beaches, the excursion to Koufonisi would work. Paros is very much like Naxos, so a trip there wouldn't be much of a variation on what you have on Naxos. The mountain villages of Naxos itself shouldn't be missed, nor should the kastro area of Naxos Town.
