ATM ATM ATM ATM ATM.

Next question.

Seriously, there is absolutely no reason to get money in advance. We didn't, and had no problems with the ATMs and this was six years ago -- the Hungarians (especially) will have far more ATMs now than then.

Plus, US banks (I'm assuming you're from the US, if not, this doesn't apply) really screw you on the exchange rates so getting foreign currencies here is costly. And few US banks will even have forints or koruna.

All that said, check your credit card and bank rate for foreign exchanges. My cc rates are all 3% (which means I pay 3% above the interbank rate for transactions not in dollars; the Interbank rate is the actual listed exchange rate between banks of different nations); my debit card from Ch--- charges 3.5% plus $3 per ATM transaction; my cash card from CapOne gives me the Interbank rate. If you have time, drop some money into a bank account that gives you a decent foreign exchange rate and get their ATM card. Every % point counts.
