Cultural differences between French and Americans

Jump to last reply

My Sister Cities group is going to be discussing this topic and I thought it would be fun to hear what this forum could come up with since you all have so much travel experience and many of you are living in Paris/France. I know it's difficult to generalize, but I do think that there are differences and I love travelling to foreign countries to observe and experience those differences. I will start with a few and see what happens. I hope this can stay a fun, positive thread.

1. French allow dogs in restaurants and stores (although food stores often disallow this)
2. French put their hands on the table instead of in their laps at meals.
