Cruise to Venice ( Graduation Trip)

Hi

So after a lot of research I have decide to take a cruice from Venice going to

Split- Croatia
Corfu-Greece
Santorini
Mykonos Town
Heraklion and back to Venice

I will like some insights in a hotel where to stay in Venice since I am arriving a day prior my sailing day some one suggested Hotel Antiche Figure .. ???

also this is a trip for next year July 17 2010 do yo think that I should wait to book the hotel maybe six month before the trip or is better to do it now ? any suggestion will be welcome !!!

I will like a hotel close to the terminal. I will just have a day to explore Venice any suggestion on key places I could visit and things I should do .. I defenetely want to do the Gondolas ...

Also will appreciatte any sugestion on must see or do on the other ports we will be going, in a cruise the time to spend on the ports are not long enough but I hope that with the right dirrection I could make my trip one to remember ....

again your help are really appreciatte it !!!!!
