Croatia - what to do
My husband and I will be traveling in Croatia for 10 days in early July. This is what we have planned so far:
Dubrovnik - 4 nights
Take bus or ferry to Brela
Brela - Hotel Soline 5 nights
Fly Split to Zagreb
Zagreb 1 night and next day afternoon flight out
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do in and around Dubrovnik and Brela and the short time in Zagreb. We picked Brela for relaxation but like to walk and explore. We will not have transport but are ok with bus or ferry.
Also, is it possible to do a day trip to Spitvice Lakes from Brela?
Any suggestions?

Plitvice Lakes is about three hours each way from Brela, if you were driving. Unless there is a private tour you could hire that day (inquire with your hotel there), it's probably not a practical day trip by public transit. Zagreb is closer to Plitvice: about 2 hours each way.
You could take a bus from Brela to Split and Split to Plitvice, spend a night at the park (there are a few park-run hotels right in the park) and then take a bus up to Zagreb. July will be very busy in all of these areas however, so I'd book hotels ASAP. The park is really nicest early in the morning before it is crowded with tour groups; I'll bet it will be crazy busy in July.
Did you consider islands like Korcula and Hvar for relaxation? I drove through Brela and stayed briefly at nearby Baska Voda and did not see much to do in the area. (Diving?) Yes, it's a big resort area so maybe that's what you're looking for - I guess some people love that.

Thanks everyone, I've been reading other posts and there are many suggestions. We really like to relax and walk, and photographing great scenery. Hope to make it to Plitvice, maybe rent a car for one day in Brela and head out real early as Andrew suggests.
