Croatia east of Zagreb

Jump to last reply

My wife and I are travelling in Croatia for 14 days in the first half of October. We are planning on spending around half that time in Istria, and half going down the Dalmatian coast to Dubrovnik, where we fly out of. We are flying into Zagreb, and I was wondering about travelling east of there for a few days. One of my favorite things to do is to wander around, discover pretty little towns, drive through pretty countryside, etc. Of course we will visit many of the places that are typically recommended, but I would like to get off the beaten path a little too. I have read very little about the country to the east of Zagreb. Would it be a good use of our time to do some exploring over there?

Thank you so much in advance for any advice any one may be willing to offer.
