We are traveling to Italy in May and want to work in a number of places.
At this time we have a rough draft and would appreciate feedback. This will be a fairly fast paced trip, but we're ok with that as seasoned travellers (so we think!). I expect we'd drive when leaving Rome but could take the train if it's a better option.
Here's our itinerary:
Day 1 - arrive Rome in morning. See Coliseum and Spanish Steps after lunch.
Day 2 - Vatican City? (morning, then ? in afternoon)
Day 3 - Roam Rome by foot?
Days 4,5,6 - drive to Cinque Terre and explore the area
Day 7 - drive to Florence and explore
Day 8 - Fathom Florence (ideas?)
Day 9 - Drive to Lake Bled, Slovenia (I know, it's a 5 hour drive)
Day 10 - Laze about Lake Bled and area
Day 11 - Lake Bled
Day 12 - Drive to Venice
Day 13 - 20 Sail the Dalmation Coast
Day 21 - fly Home
We're not much into the museum/art scene but would take in some of the "must do" places. We're open to suggestions. Also, do you have hotel/B&B suggestions for any of these areas?
Thanks very much!

A few comments;
3 days is a lot for Cinque Terre, and Bled, more than any city. Is that your goal, visit the cities briefly and then relax and slow down in the more rural areas?
It's 4 hours from Bled to Venice so you would arrive in early afternoon, at best. That gives you par of an afternoon and evening in Venice before you sail the Dalmatian Coast (what does that mean, exactly?) the next day. It sounds like that would take the entire day so you really only want part of a day in Venice proper?
Car would be a better option for the CT, and pretty much required for Bled, but useless in Florence. That complicates things since you want to put CT between Rome and Florence. It takes a little longer to reach Bled from CT than from Florence, but if you did Rome- Florence - CT - Bled. You could pick up the car leaving Florence and then drop it on arriving in Venice.
My random thoughts:
This itinerary looks really exhausting to me. I don't understand the "drive to Slovenia for two days" then drive back to Venice and only spend a day & a half.
Rome is huge, there is so much to see, but you're only spending 2.5 jet-lagged days there.
Florence to Lake Bled is a 5 hour drive if you don't stop to use the bathroom and don't get lost along the way and don't hit any traffic.
I would travel by train whenever possible.
