Any thoughts on Europeo vs. Just Rent A Car (rental.center.crete) for a one week car rental in Crete in September? Flying into HER and out of CHQ. Europeo seems to be about a third less for comparable rentals, including full insurance and unlimited kms. Saw something about older cars with Europeo. Any reliability issues? Any thoughts or experiences will be appreciated.

In order to avoid any complications, i would only rent a car from well known international providers .

Crete is huge, and there is nothing worse than waiting with a technical problem in the middle of nowhere, for a local car rental to send someone......
Paying more buys you good service and cars that are flawless....
Honestly, i would never trust any local, not known car rental.
( don't wanna scare you, but i could tell you some stories about what happened to others...)
Try Hertz, Avis, etc, even though they cost more.
Just left Crete last Thursday. Had a 6 day rental through Cretan Car Rentals which turned out to be Budget Crete. Met us at Heraklion port, dropped at Chania Airport. Full coverage for 211 EU, fine service and absolutely no problems.
