Credit Card Billing & Air France

I am just wondering if anyone has had this experience and can comment...

I booked flights on Air France about ten days ago. I have the confirmation number and can see the flights in our names marked "confirmed" on line. Despite this, my credit card has not been charged yet.

We are not flying until next year but I am wondering why the card has not been charged.

Dejais...Dont know about Air France, but those airlines I get tickets from normally send out an email confirmation as soon as the ticket is issued. It is possible to be "confirmed" on a flight and not yet ticketed. Some international fares allow 10 to 14 days before tickets must be purchased, some only 1 or 3 days.If you are concerned, it is worth a phone call. The credit card will be charged at the time of ticketing, as the credit card is in fact the Form of Payment.I hope this helps......Stephen

Thanks Stephen. I did, in fact, get a confirming email from Air France immediately which is the reason for my concern about no charge.

I guess I should call them.

Dejais......Check on your confirming email for a ticket number.....I have never heard of an airline issuing a ticket without charging a credit card. But, in our cyber world, who knows??The ticket number is 13 digits, and will begin with the numbers "057 1234567899" something like that....The "057" being the official "airline number".....Hope that helps....Call them, too, or at least I would..

Lo and behold, as soon as I posted this question, the card got charged. Imagine that?

But thanks for your help.
