Cost to spend 2 weeks in France and Greece with 13 year old grandson

Jump to last reply

I want to take my grandson on a 2-week trip (including travel time) to France and Greece during the summer of 2013. He will be 13 at the time of the trip and I will be an active 72. He is especially enamored of old Greek history so wants to visit the old Grecian historic sites; in France, he wants to see Normandy, the Louve, Eifel Tower, etc. He loves Grecian history and French war stories.

Does anyone have an estimated idea of what a trip like that would cost including airfare from the California West Coast, staying in decent hotels, tour guide costs, etc?

I do understand that the estimated cost given today would be different in 2013 when you factor inflation, airline increases, etc. Am I talking $10,000, $15,000 or what?

I am hopeful that travel to Greece by that time will be safer also. If not, I may have to change the itinerary.

Any other helpful tips, suggestions, ideas, etc. of where to go or what to do would be appreciated.

Thanks.
