Cost of Van from CDG
I know there is a set charge for a taxi from the airport into Paris. We will have 4 people plus luggage so I think we may need a van. Is there a set charge for vans or does anybody know about how much one would cost? As always, thanks so much for your help!!

Taxi.
There are taxi that accomodate 4 people with luggage. The guy in charge of the taxi line wil ldirect you to one of those.
These cars are called 'monovolumes' in France - cars like VW Sharan or Renault Espace. Check to put your mind at ease.

The prices into Paris are fixed but there is a 4€ charge for each of the 5th through 7th passengers. There is no luggage charge and if you are going the other direction, there is no approach charge.

Parisian taxi companies refer to those cars as monospaces. They may also have what they call minivans or a van (I've even seen the term maxicab) but that is for more passengers, a monospace will hold 4 with baggage. I've seen G7 refer to them as breaks, also, but I don't know why. But if you are at the airport, you don't have to know those terms, they'll figure it out by what you need. I don't know if there are extra charges for the vans, but I think a monospace is the same rate as a regular car.

All Parisian taxis, regardless of size, must abide by the city's tarifs, which are set in stone.
You'll pay either 50 or 55 EU for 4 people with luggage, depending on which side of the Seine you're heading to. You do not have to tip the driver unless you want to, and he'll be happy with just a couple of euros.
The only additional fees are the ones Sarastro mentioned.

I know this post will set off a flurry of naysayers, but I have used the private shuttle service Shuttle-Inter very successfully for many years now. They come into the airport with your name on a placard to meet you as you exit Baggage and will help you to the car/van. The price for 4 people from CDG to Paris is 65 euro.
They are very professional, courteous, drive clean cars/vans, and I have not had one bit of trouble with their not showing up. I use them for every RT, CDG-Paris. They were especially helpful when we were traveling with my husband's sisters, BIL, all of us "seniors", and two of our group had significant walking difficulties.

Everyone his own. I don't see the interest of prebooking a shuttle and paying 10 € more when you can easily take a cab.
But if you like shuttles, why not. Don't forget to tip. The last shuttle I was in, not in Paris, the driver asked for a tip then showed a sign saying 'TIP : 20%'. We told him we were not americans.

We used to use private car services in the past, for family members who required or requested it. The fee was 90 EU for a one-way trip from CDG to the Marais. They were usually met right outside the door that leads to the public access hall, but they couldn't always find the chauffeur with the "placard", due to the crush of people waiting for passengers or friends at the barricades there - and sometimes, the driver wasn't there. The company we used always credited our account, if the driver couldn't make the pick-up.
Private car services - including Uber and private shuttles - can only spend a few minutes in the short-term parking areas. If they have to go move their vehicle, they must circle around the airport and try to find another spot in the STP area. If there aren't any, the cycle repeats. So, there's a chance you might not make the connection with your driver. If he has other passengers to pick up, and can't get back to you in a reasonable length of time, he will be directed to leave you to find other transportation.
This is why you should never pre-pay for shuttle service unless you are familiar with the company's policies.
Shared shuttles, like the AirFrance bus, are an option, but only if you are not in a hurry to get to your hotel, and only if your hotel is within easy walking distance to the AF drop-off points.
The walk to the TAXI stand is not long in any terminal, and all you do is look for the overhead signs pointing you in the right direction. The lines move very quickly, no matter how long they might seem.
