Thanks nytraveler. I took your advise. Read several. Didn't find anyone that had taken this exact tour. I was hoping to get first hand advise from someone who had. Anyone??

Being fairly new to this can you "top" your own request?

I looked at the itinerary and since I live near Luzern here is my opinion on the Swiss part of the itinerary. I happen to live near Engelberg and the Stanserhorn-2 places many coach trips come to and one thing that I caution you about it the lack of flexibility of these tours. For instance, today it is absolutely pouring and yet all these bus tours still march everyone up the mountains with their very limited time in Switzerland even though there is nothing to see in this type of weather.

The Glacier Express train ride of this tour completely misses the best part of that route-which is after Andermatt.

From observation-when the brochures state "Luzern area hotel" they really mean there is a good chance you will be 20-30km out with limited public transportation.

Sorry, but a few hours for the Jungfrau region (around Interlaken, which I don't believe this tour even goes to the Jungfrau, you'd probably just look at it in the distance from Interlaken) is not enough. And what madness!! Luzern-Interlaken-Bern-Geneva "area" in one day! All on motorway I should add.

IMHO, Switzerland needs more time than this tour offers.

Thanks for the information. Chris I also was concerned about missing some good areas of Switzerland. This was the only tour I found that took us to the Matterhorn, also include a short ride on the Glacier. Two things I wanted to do. We will hopefully be able to return to Switzerland (on our own) and explore areas we like and missed. This first trip we will give us an idea of how we can do it on our own. Wish we could have found something to our liking with more time to enjoy what I am sure is a lovely country.
