Corridoio Vasariano

Eike Schmidt, the new Direttore degli Uffizi, has got her way.

The Corridoio Vasariano is open to everyone who wants to walk from Palazzo Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti along the hidden route taken by the Medicis.

However, all the paintings which lined the walls will have to be removed.

More money for the Galleria degli Uffizi but is this a good thing?

what's the point of doing it if you can't see the paintings?

I agree with annhig, but I understand the security issue. I'd rather pay more to be on a guided walk-through even if there was no lecture/docent aspect.

me too, jean.

Why not open it full time for guided tours?

They could make even more money!
