Copenhagen - 2 day itinerary

Hello - I will be in Copenhagen for 2 days only - - any 'must's that I should see/do/eat?

When is your trip? I will be there the first week in July for the first time. I'll write with recommendations when I get back

Hmmm, with only 2 days? Well, I'd go to Tivoli (amusement park), see Nyhavn (old harbour with pretty colored buildings and lots of restaurants), do a canal tour (the tour boats leave from Nyhavn), see the changing of the guards at Amelienborg Palace, go for a tour of Christianshaven Palace, and take a walk (and do some shopping!) on Stroget (pedestrian shopping street).

If you have some extra time, take a walk along the lakes and (for a change of pace) go to Christiania (hippy-like "free state" in the centre of the city).

The nice thing about Copenhagen is that all the "must sees" are within walking distance. If you take the metro to the stop "Kongens Nytorv" or even stay near the area of Stroget everything is within a 5-10 minute walk.

I can't really help with recommending restaurants because I was living there and mostly buying and cooking my own food. I do remember there are lots of really good pizza and kebab restaurants though!

Enjoy Copenhagen, its one of my favourite places in Europe!

Hi M,

You might want to try a few (dozen) smørrebrod.

The Wienerbrød is also pretty good.
