Cooking lessons in Lyon
Will be in Lyon for a few days next spring and would love to take maybe three 1/2- day cooking lessons in this great culinary city. Found some info on the School of Culinary Arts, but seems to have only 5-day programs. Does anyone know of any chefs/restaurants/schools that might offer classes for an individual or small group?

I'm now in Roanne, about an hour and a half drive from Lyon, at L'Ecole des Trois Ponts. They offer cooking classes, but typically by the week, which is not what you want. I posed your question to the director and the chef. They don't know of any classes which are exactly what you want. They do know a chef in Lyon who offers half-day classes, but only one specific day each week (I think Sunday). If you want his name, let me know, and I'll ask for it. We're here until Friday night. Reply on the forum; I'm not monitoring my e-mail address while I'm away (too much spam).

Larry--
If you could get name of chef in Lyon that would be a most helpful start.
And thanks to both replies about L'Ecole des Trois Ponts. Will check that out as well. May have to revise plans.

pegwilli,
I've gotten the name and phone number of the chef in Lyon who gives one day lessons. I got this from René, the director at the Ecole des Trois Ponts. I asked if he also had an e-mail address, and he said he'd get it to me later - he had to go off on some errand.
So I'll give you what I have so far, and I hope to send you the e-mail address later today:
J. Marc Villard
(0)4 72 17 87 71
From the US, you'd direct dial it as:
011 33 472 17 87 71
I'm told he speaks English. Hope to get you the e-mail address later.
