convince me to go to barcelona, pyrennes, and north coast of spain

Trying to think of where to go on the next trip. Would have about 10 days. My idea is fly into Barcelona, but only spend a day or so before driving into the pyrennes and then to the northern coast of Spain.
Where should we go, what should we see, where should we stay??
Thanks

I did a similar trip last March and loved it. We went up into southern France as well as north coast of Spain. When I got back and told my co-worker about my trip she booked one for July and they also had a great time. They spent a week in the pyrennes and the other week split between Barcelona and the north coast.

Here's my trip report:

Here are the photos from that trip: http://www.pbase.com/annforcier/nort...outhern_france

Go into the Pyrenees, Bielsa, Torla, St. Jean de Pied de Port and then on to marvellous San Sebastián and stay. Keep on going along the coast towards Bilbao.

Why even fly to BCN? Fly to Bilbao, San Sebatian, Pamplona or another location closer since you only have 10 days and start your trip there. That is if you become conviced to take this vacation.

Why would anyone need to be convinced? I little more research should answer all of your questions.

Go see the churches in Taüll in the Spanish Pyrenees. You might want to cover both sides of the eastern Pyrenees by seeing French part of Catalonia.

I am going to be my curmudgeonly self. To me these boards are for advice not the play things of self-indulgent children. What one person may find interesting another may not and to guess the likes and dislikes of a stranger simply for their amusement, is to be the object of manipulation.

I don't like posts that start with ... "convince me". It sounds like an order.

Does this make me as grouchy as Adu?

Maybe more, because everyone thinks you are nice guy.

At least I'm not the only one who found "convince me" fairly asinine.

Also to the above posters, this person doesn't seem to want to go to BCN, just fly there to start the driving trip.

I was going to say how offensive I found the subject line of this post, since I don't give two hoots whether the poster goes to any of those places or Newnan, Georgia, for her holidays, but I am late to the table and others have already done it well.

ekellyga, change your screen name and come back for real advice without being cute. People on this forum really work hard to answer questions. You deserve another chance because you didn't necessarily know how negatively they react to people who ask things like "What is there to do in Paris?" or other questions that could be answered quickly from a cursory glance at a guidebook.

I will try to convince you to skip Barcelona. We did 5 days in Barcelona and 5 in San Sebastian last summer and I wished we stayed all 10 days in San Sebastian.

Of course, this OP is not the first to use the phrase "convince me". And he/she did say thanks. So I vote for giving the OP a second chance.

Convince me I am wrong.

"To me these boards are for advice not the play things of self-indulgent children."

Reading this thread, I find little evidence supporting that point of view. Convince me.

What am I missing here. All I got out of the original post and thread title is that ekellyga was considering a trip to that region and wanted people to help him/her decide. I can think of a number of times I considered a destination but wasn't totally sure and benefited from the advice of others who love the area.

I agree that "convince me" sounded like they really don't want to go to this area, but for some reason are compelled to and want to make the best of it.
Personally if I needed to be convinced, I'd choose somewhere else for my vacation.

Coming up with original ideas might be the most difficult thing to do in this world, if I had one I'd want to be compensated!

Going to Spain in April (again).
What is there to do in SS for 10 days if there is no beach weather and "eating our way through.." is not the reason we travel?
