Does anyone know if there is construction next to either of these hotels that would make it bothersome or impede views? Looking to stay end of December.

fyi Shangri-la is at 10, ave d'Iena, 75116

and lots of rooms in most hotels don't have views, either. Some rooms in the Shangrila have views of the Eiffel Tower, but most do not. But no harm in asking.

Sometimes they mention construction on booking.com, I've noticed. But more in the hotel itself.

Send both hotels an e-mail and ask them if they are going to be doing any renovations or construction work. Hopefully they answer honestly!

Thanks, I have contacted both hotels, no response as of yet. The Shangri-La has the best views, you just need to pay for those, so that might be it for us.

budg, did you end up staying at the shangrila? We are trying to decide between it, le meurice and Le royal monceau. Travelling with our 9 yo and only in paris for 2 nights. Any thoughts?

(FYI - Searching on Fodors only locates really old threads which is likely why/how you found this one from two years ago.)

Maybe start a thread of your own asking re the hotels.
