construction budapest Marriott

Has anyone stayed at the Marriott in Budapest while it is under "construction"? We have reservations in April and wondering if this will be a problem.

We were just there in the middle of October and it was not an issue at all. They are doing it in phases. When we were there there was some scaffolding on the outside and it looked like they were working on a particular section of the hotel that was probably totally closed off. We had concerns when we found out and we called the hotel before our trip and they assured us there would not be a problem and it wasn't.

It is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff. We highly recommend it. An added reccomendation is dining at the Spoon Cafe. It is a boat docked on the Danube right near the Marriott. Great food, great staff and great views. Reserve a window table. Order the boiled beef with brie crostini. Excellent. Enjoy your trip.

Hi Deb, I was there in December and only remembered they were renovating because a sign said one of the restaurants was closed. It's a very, very nice property with balconies looking onto the Castle. Breakfast was held in a beautiful room looking to the river, the bar was very comfortable, and they had some kind of "dessert buffet" that I managed to avoid. Also, room service was delicious if you're forced to stay in. Wow, I'd go back tomorrow if I could....have fun.
