Concerts in Ravello

Hi,

We're off to Amalfi next week and I was wondering if there are any concerts in Ravello scheduled for Sat 12, Sun 13, Mon 14 July? Or any other events in the area that you can recommend?

Please let me know.

Katerina

We were in Ravello last week and saw them putting the finishing touches on the concert stage at the Villa Rufolo as the season started on the weekend. The stage is cantilevered out over the cliffside, the audience faces the water high above the coastline. It was absolutely amazing.

Hi Katerina - We are going in August and were able to buy tickets on http://www.ravelloarts.org

We got the confirmation email so that is one less thing to worry about!! I have never been though so perhaps it isn't necessary. I just thought that I would share

Let us know what it is like after you go if you think about it!

Socaltraveler and Paigenet,

Thank you so much for the tips; after reading your comments, I can't wait to go now!

Paigenet - I have checked out the web but there are no concerts listed during the dates that we are there. However the web - ravellotime.it, which Steve James provided, states that there are concerts on Sat 12, Sun 13 and Tues 15 July... let's hope so ... do you think we need to prebook the tickets?

I will write a trip report on our return.

Katerina

Hi, Kacenka -

When I attended a concert at the Villa Rufulo in Ravello, those of us who had reserved ahead of time had far better seats than those who did not.

Enjoy!

Katerina - For one of the nights we are there the same thing is true - Steve's link has a concert but the link that I provided you does not. I would go ahead and try to call the Villa directly and reserve in advance. I have done that with several other concerts (at locations on Ischia) for this trip. I will try to call early tomorrow morning and let you know what I find out or you if you have success first!! The alternative is to have your hotel book/reserve tickets.

We will be on the Amalfi Coast from Oct.4-11. Will there be any concerts? Or, are they finished by the end of September? Thanks.

Keep your eyes out for a concert postcard or poster. I picked up one (maybe from the tourist bureau in Ravello, I think.) and it was so beautifully done that I took it home and had it framed. It's one of my favorite souvenirs now.

We are going to see/hear the Orchestra from Baku one night and the Einaudi piano concert the next night. Both are on the Belvedere stage which I think is the main one?? Not sure though! I'm so excited. Did you eat in Ravello before the concert? I need to get reservations somewhere tomorrow since we leave Friday. We will be staying in Praiano those days but wanted to eat in Ravello before the concert and maybe wander around a bit, unless you suggest something different Villa Cimbrone's restaurant was full and Cumpa Cossimo has gotten mixed reviews so I would love any thoughts!!

Thanks - Glad to hear your trip was wonderful.

I really enjoyed my two dinners at Da Salvatore when I stayed in Ravello. And it has a very beautiful view.

It's far. It's way at the top of a hill only accessible by a winding road -- and that's on top of the winding road from Positano to the base of the Ravello road.

I wouldn't be surprised by a 50-75e taxi bill on a concert night, but I'm only guessing. There might be special buses.

This map might give you an idea
