My husband and I are going to Provence in the beginning of September. We will be spending two nights in Aix, four nights in Avignon and 4 nights in Eze. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get information regarding concerts. I would love to go to an outdoor classical concert in an ancient colosseum (my spelling is bad). I know there is a web site for concerts in Paris, how about Avignon or Aix? Also any feedback on Hotel D'Europe? Thanks so much! <BR> <BR>Patty

I stayed in that hotel years ago, if you mean the one in Avignon. I loved it. <BR>Small, quiet, charming, very convenient location. Not formal, but with a certain attention to service that <BR>was very luxurious. Meals could be taken on a lovely terrace. I don't recall if there was an elevator, I remember climbing some stairs.

Hi Kay, we're staying at Hotel Gallici in Aix. It is right outside Aix, walking distance to Aix, although a long one. It is more expensive than most but since it is my birthday present, I wanted something really special and it certainly looks it. What really sold me on the hotel was the outdoor restaurant which looked so comfortable and cool under this huge tree. In Avignon we are staying at Hotel d'Europe which is right in Avignon. I did a lot of research, but can't remember the websites I looked at. When I get home I'll look them up and let you know. Patty

Hi Patty: <BR>There are usually open air concerts <BR>in the Roman arena in Orange during <BR>the summer - spectacular venue - and <BR>a lovely drive from Avignon.
