comfy shoes for skinny feet?

Hi folks,
I'm getting ready for out trip to France and shoe shopping is wearing me out. I have narrow feet from side to side and top to bottom. Dansko's are slightly too wide as well as Born. I did find a pair of Ecco (the braided Maryjane size 38) I might go back for if I don't find something ab. fab. Also tried the Mephisto all around runner but for $175.00, my Adidas are more comfortable and less pricey.

Any skinny footed women find comfy shoes that look somewhat attractive?
Thanks!

Some Merrells are narrow and I like the Nike Air slide in black suede for an athletic shoe-look. We usually go to Europe in the fall and I wear boots..Donald Pliner makes all his footwear narrow as well .. Hope this helps ( this is always my problem..)

I like SAS , they come not only in narrow but slender. I have a 4A foot with a 5 A heel and they are the only shoes I've ever had that don't flop around. And they have an excellent arch support if you have a very high arch to boot.

Why did God give me skinny feet instead of a skinny butt???

I could not wear either Ecco or Merrells. And I also don't like an athletic shoe ..too heavy and too casual for my style.

I wear SAS also, as I have a narrow foot. The ones I wear are not attractive, but I can walk comfortably on miles and miles of cobblestones.

I have a pair of Ecco shoes that I bought 4 years ago for a trip to Bali. They're going on their 3rd trip to Europe this fall, (plus a 2nd trip to Asia last year), and look almost as good as new. I also wear them around home some. I have the ones with Velcro straps, which work very well for my narrow feet, but allow me to add socks or loosen them during a long flight when one's feel swell. In short, it was the best money I ever spent on a pair of shoes.

Thanks
Good so far, I'm gonna check out SAS.
And yes, Jody, I couldn't agree with you more : )

Scarlett those Cole Haan look great but I will try to find a place to try them on since my feet tend to slip out of backless shoes. I hope they work, they look good.

Keep 'em coming

"This is the Cole Haan Nike Air shoe that I like. They come in black also and are soo comfortable."

I have three pairs of Cole Haan's with the Nike air heel and they are super comfortable. There are several styles, some with ties, so you may find one that fits well. If you can find them in a good shoe store, they may put padding in to adjust the fit.

I bought my first pair, black mules about three years ago and wore them all over France, next year to Italy and they are going on my next trip in a few weeks.
I wore them into the Mephisto shop in Aix and the saleswomen oohed and aahed over them. "oh, Cole Haan." They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had and worth the price.

Good luck with your search, comfortable shoes are essential.

I love the Cole Haan Nike Airs, too; I'm taking a new pr of CH NAs that are mary jane style this trip. Will report back!

Scarlett, I love the one you chose; wish I had seen it.

Stuart Weitzman makes narrow sizes, also, and are available on www.zappo.com

I have a narrow foot too...my sandals are Ecco with a velcro strap to hold it on my skinny ankles. Otherwise I wear SAS N Freetime and Merrils which seem to run narrow. I also wear Asics Gel sneakers medium width which fit. I never ever can find narrow shoes here. Only Nordstroms.

Does the Cole Haan have a gel insert? Are those allowed?

I could ditto Jody completely & also love SAS for comfort. I wear the loafer styles. They're not the most fashionable but at least not ugly & clunky. It's a pain to have "expensive feet."

Salvatore Ferragamo make very narrow sizes but I don't find them comfortable but you might.

Try skinny footed and long for my SIL. Get the Eccoes in any and every style you like. Your feet will thank you. You might look at Sierra Trading Company for great buys on some styles. Or Zappo's. SIL wears a 12AAAA--swears by Eccoes.

Save a little space in your suitcase to buy shoes once you get to France. Head over to the huge shoe departments in one of the Grands Magasins (Printemps, Galeries Lafayette, Bon March&eacute. French women are relatively petite, and I think you'll find some slim shoes to suit you. You might want to splurge a little on a pair of ballet-inspired flats from Repetto (available in the department stores and also at the Repetto shop on Rue de la Paix (75002) - they seem to be very trendy at the moment.

The main problem i have with Repetto is that they don't have any arch support (but if you like them, there is a Repetto outlet rue Saint Lazare)
