closest small town to Munich with train station?

Jump to last reply

We are staying in Memmingen for 2 nights and will have a car. We are planning to go to Munich for the day because it's only an hour away by train, we are not planning to drive into Munich. We thought we would take the train from Memmingen but now, since there are 4 of us, my husband is wondering if we could drive closer to Munich and take a " suburban " train , parking the car at the train station.
Does anybody know of a small town close to Munich where it would be convenient to leave the car and take a train into the city?
greatly appreciated.
