Checking Google maps, it shows distance on foot from cruise port to Ferrovia Del Stato (which unless I am wrong is the railway station) is roughly 0.6 of a mile. Can someone confirm if my assumption is correct. Thanks !!

I would say that's the distance from the ferry docks. There are something like 10-12 cruise ship piers or quays, so the distance to the train station would depend on exactly where your ship ties up. If you go back to maps.google.com and look at the satellite view of the port, you'll see ships docked at several points.

Also, check to see if your cruise line operates a shuttle to the train station.
It's about 1/3 of a mile from the port gates to the train station. A very flat walk. You might look at these posts for maps and photos of the walk and the train station in Civitavechia:

Hi ny,

You are right about the distance from the gates of the port to the train station.
It's a couple of km from your ship to the gates.
These are the instructions we followed from europeportreview.com and they were perfect. Turn Right Down This Street After Leaving Port The train station is an easy 10-minute walk from the port entrance. Civitavecchia is an industrial port and requires a shuttle from w the ship docks to the port entrance. To find the trains station, simply exit the port entrance and then cross the street w the crosswalk.Continue along this street (parallel to the coastline) for approximately 4 blocks until you hit the train station. It couldn't be easier.
