Civi Port to Orveto by Train for 3 nights and Back to Civitavecchia

Jump to last reply

I have read topics both here and on cruise critic but would still appreciate current advice. I was recently in Orvieto for two weeks and would love to show this fabulous town to my husband between back to back cruises ut of Rome.

We arrive back in Civitavecchia on October 29, 2014 and depart again from Civitavecchia on November first.

It appears we need to take the free shuttle from the ship and then find the train station. Train to Termini and transfer to a train to Orvieto.

We were thinking of staying three nights but I'm a little hesitant to check out on the day of the cruise and then have to make our way back to Termini and then the port by what - probably to ship by 2pm for a 5pm departure.

Should we make our way back to Rome and spend the night? This way we go to the port from Rome?

I have just been to Rome again recenly for 8 days, a 4th visit.

I would really appreciate your thoughts, advice and suggestions. Thank you.
