We will be in Cinque Terre from the 23rd to the 26th. We were hoping to stay in Vernazza but so far ever where that I have contacted is booked.

What are our chances of finding a place if we just show up in town on the 23rd?

What kind of luck will I have if I look at one of the other towns? I've found a few place through book.com in Monterosso and Manarola.

How about staying just outside of Cinque Terre. Any places we should look at? How would it take us to get to Cinque Terre from them?

We stayed in Riomaggiore in late July and visited Vernazza by boat, that would be an option of you can't find a room.

Do you meant the 23rd to the 26th of this month, Sept. 2013? Personally, I'd want a reservation; others might disagree. In case you aren't fully committed to Vernazza, note that I loved my stay at La Torretta in Manarola:

The dates are for September. GF read in a travel guide that we did not need to bother with reservation. Then I got concerned and tried contacting a few places. With good reason it seems.
