Cinque Terre hard to find lodging for less than a week
We were hoping to spend 3 nights in Manarola, Cinque Terre next June, but so far having trouble finding any lodging which will accept less than a week stay. This seems unusual- though I would love to linger in Cinque Terre for a week, do not have the time on this trip. Any suggestions ? La Torreta has not answered my emails- maybe they are no longer in business ? Da Baranin require a minimum. We would really like to be in one of the five villages, not Levanto, La Spezia, or Monterresso.

I agree with Patrick and Eurotravler. We've stayed several times at the Marina Piccola hotel and enjoyed it very much. Ask for a room with a seaview.
This past June, we rented an apartment from the agency Eurotravler named. We were very happy with the apartment and the co-owner of the agency. This agency also represents several owners with rooms to rent and several hotels in Cinque Terre.

I remember when I went about that time we just walked into a cafe in Riomaggiore and asked whether anyone knew of someone renting a room with a view and a bath. Ended up with someone's saying his nephew had a place to rent - which turned out to be a charming flat - huge floor to ceiling windows...cheap, good bathroom. I've done this now a couple of times - just go into a local small cafe and ask or also any smaller tourist shop - each time I have ended up in a small private place that was inexpensive and charming - the place in Cinque Terre even had a dining room and full on kitchen and was quite clean. If you can stand the uncertainty I would go do it this way since it won't be high season in June.

Hi,
We just spent 2 nights in Manarola a couple of weeks ago. Cinque Terre was one if the highlights of our 3 weeks in Italy. We were traveling with my husband, our 26 year old daughter and my in-laws. We reserved our rooms at La Torretta in Manarola about 6 weeks before our stay.I'm not sure why they are not answering there mail. They speak English so maybe a call would be helpful. My in-laws had a cute room complete with a mini kitchen and a nice sitting porch over looking the village and water. We had a suite- a large bed for my husband and I and a smaller single trundle bed in an adjoining room for my daughter. The three of us shared a bath. My in-laws room was 100 Euros and ours was 150. So 50 Euros per person and included breakfast. The place is spotless. We visited the 5 other villages and all agreed Manarola is the place to be. There are two very good resturants in the village. One is Il Porticciolo and the other is Marina something, right on the water you can't mistake it. The gnocchi at Il Porticciolo was like biting into a pillow. The best I have ever had!! We were able to swim right at the bottom hill in the village, jumping off rocks into very crystal clear water. In the evening the fishermen lower their small boats parked along the sidewalks into the water using a crane to reach the water below the rocks. Very cool!!
We were able to park our car in the lot above Manarola at 13 Euros per day. We could not say enough good about our visit to Cinque Terre.

We have never had that problem..but usually go in Sept or Oct...and another poster is probably correct..you are booking too far in advance. We have stayed in Portovenere on our last 2 trips and although it is not one of the 5 villages, it looks the same and is very close by boat. We have stayed in the Royal Sporting and the town has some very good restaturants. Medusa, Tre Torri and one at the end of town by Byron's Grotto..stay away from restaurants along the front.
