I am stumped. Need to get from Cinque Terra (Manarola) to Bordeaux, France but can't seem to figure out the most logical way to do so. It's a travel day for us and we don't have to be anywhere at any specific time. Understand it will involve trains and/or flights but can't seem to determine the best routing. Thoughts?

It's more than 600 miles away by land. I suppose you could try getting a train to Milan and then fly from there via Barcelona on a budget airline like Vueling. I have no idea if you could make the correct connections.

By rail you are talking an even possibly longer distance with numerous changes over a minimum of perhaps 14 hours.

Hopefully someone will offer better alternatives than I am able to provide.

You could drive to Milan Malpensa Airport and catch an Easyjet direct flight (not scheduled daily though - not sure what your travel day is). Or you could drive to Bologna and fly Ryanair to Bordeaux direct. This is also only a couple of times per week, so you'd need to check their schedules.

The "most logical" way will be a factor of the day of the week you're traveling, what time flights depart from various airports and whether you can get to a particular airport in time.

If your travel day is Monday or Friday, according to rome2rio.com, the fastest route is train to Pisa and then fly direct to Bordeaux on Volotea. This option is not possible on other days of the week.

The most frequent direct service may be Nice-Bordeaux. It's about 5.5 hours by train from Manarola to Nice, then 90 minutes by plane from Nice to Bordeaux.

Second best choice might be Genoa to Paris, train to Bordeaux.

Flying Pisa to Bordeaux? You could do that on Volotea also but NOT every day of the week.
