Chunnel Information question
Can anyone give me information on taking the chunnel train from London to Paris? How much does it it cost? How often do the trains run? From which London station would I leave? Are reservations required and are they difficult to obtain? Any information would be appreciated.
We purchased our tickets thru travel agent who helped locate flat in London and hotel in Paris. Cost $83 for coach class. She recommended purchasing here in USA. Maybe because of commission - don't know.
You could contact British Tourist Authority in New York, 1-800-462-2748. They have all kinds of info on everything! We leave 9/14 and are looking forward to our trip.
Happy traveling!
Try www.Eurostar.com or use a searcher--they have a great web site.

I saved myself about 25% by booking the tickets directly with Eurostar than going through an agent in N Amer. Their international number is under ticket desk at their site www.eurostar.com.

Trains leave from Waterloo and arrive at Gare du Nord, usually with one stop in Ashford. Fares vary; they have
weekend excursions, same-day trips and cheaper fares if you buy in advance. The trip is 3 hrs and often runs late. Trains leave nearly every hour (during the day, at least). Check out the website mentioned for prices.
NB You can now get free trips on Eurostar with your United miles. We just did; I believe it was 10,000 miles for 1 round-trip ticket.
