Christmas windows in Paris

The Christmas windows on Boulevard Haussmann were already inaugurated 10 days ago, and they are as spectacular as ever even if they are premature.

I have therefore been obliged to start a Christmas 2014 report for Paris, even though the first section is just devoted to Printemps and Galeries Lafayette. There is a video for each one as well, so you can see the little critters in action.

The Christmas market on the Champs Elysées opened today I think, and the illuminations will begin on November 20th, so there will be a lot more pictures soon.

Last time I was in Paris, I just missed the Christmas windows. They were setting them up. If it had been early, like this year, I would have seen them. They are always beautiful and fun at the same time.

That is quite THE tree at Galeries Lafayette..

Stunning-----you sure know how to put someone in the Chritmas spirit, if a bit early.
Loved the upside down tree in Galeries Layfayette.
Wish we could be there.

If anybody is planning on seeing the BHV/Marais windows, don't bother. They are horrible. I will try to get to the Bon Marché before long. While their windows are generally far too adult, they are at least very artistically designed.

I would LOVE to see the windows of Louis VUITTON next to Cafe Deux Magots in the Rue Bonaparte.

Or the windows of Laduree!!

Thank you, again, Kerouac for taking the time to do this for those of us who will not be there. We were just in Paris and missed the display by 6 days.

Everybody needs to see this sooner or later, so just plan a trip to correspond to the displays some day.

Since the "real" Christmas season is just starting, I will be posting lots more photos (and videos probably) on the same thread soon, so I urge people to keep checking back. The Champs Elysées Christmas lights were inaugurated tonight, and the Christmas market also opened this week. I won't be able to visit both until next week, but there will be a full report about both places.

Laduree in NYC was pretty with silver metallic snakes and macron trees of silver and plummy-brown. Very unique! Will see what Paris looks like.soon.
