Christmas dinner in Paris?

Any suggested restaurants in Paris open on Christmas day? I know you must book in advance.

Most hotel restaurants, some very good, are open on Christmas Day.

Correct about hotels. We had a lunch at Cafe Marley several years ago (great view of the Louvre Pyramid if you sit outside, which we did). We had dinner Christmas night at Marco Polo a few years ago and at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon on our last visit.

I also believe that the Christian Constant restaurants are open and I think only Violin d'Ingres requires a reservation. Check with them to be sure.

Paris by Mouth will post a list of open restaurants for Christmas Eve, Christmas and NYE closer to time. The link from 2015 is below:

You can also find open restaurants in the areas of Paris that are inhabited with non-Christian residents.

By mid-day there are lots of places open throughout the 5th & 6th where lots of tourists stay in Paris (and I am one of them .

Le Train Bleu at the Gare de Lyon is open 365 days a year, and its Belle Epoque decor is gorgeous. Food is good. www.le-train-bleu.com

Chain restaurants like Chez Clément, Léon de Bruxelles or Noura are open on Christmas day. Not high gastronomy, but you will not go hungry or broke.

If you're looking for something fancy, most restaurants do not post their menus or accept reservations until 60 or 30 days in advance.

Drouant is a good choice and is open during the Christmas holidays.

Remember that when choosing a reservation time, the best would be between 12:00 to 1:30 for Lunch and between 7:30 to 9:00 for Dinner.
This way, you'll have ample time to enjoy yourself and the kitchen won't have run out of anything.

I have Christmas Eve dinner every year at Violon d' Ingres on Rue St. Dominique in the 7th and as of last year they are open for Christmas dinner as well. Generally a set menu of several courses....very exceptional
